The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi

The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi is the final book in The Gilded Wolves series.

With Séverin's supposed betrayal, Enrique, Laila, Hypnos and Zofia are lost. Left with only a few clues as to where they should go and what they should do, this fracture family must find their way to Venice, Italy to locate their lost leader.

Meanwhile, Séverin must rely on cunning and strength alone in order to trick the Patriarch of the House of the Fallen into disclosing the location of the hidden temple, where he will be able to play the Divine Lyre and finally obtain all that his heart desires.

As time runs short, leaving Laila only days to live, the crew faces their hardest challenge yet. Will they be willing to risk it all or will time finally run out?

Man, do I have mixed feelings about this one. I love the steampunk, fantasy vibe of this series. I love the character development and the relationship dynamics within this little crew of misfits. But this finally book in the series, left much to be desired for me. It didn't feel as exciting and new as the previous two books and I think the storyline got a little... convoluted. The first book felt really straightforward to me; the second building in complexity and the third somewhere in the middle that just left me a little confused.

And, not to be one of those readers but, that ending! Ugh. Yes, the ending wrapped things up in a pretty little bow, but it was not very satisfying. I would have preferred loose ends or plot holes, honestly. The excitement just wasn't there. I wanted to feel more about the ending than I did.

I really hate giving this book three stars because I love the world and the characters but it all comes down to feeling for me and I just wasn't feeling this one. Three stars from me.

That's all for now!
