Hello Rhyme – ASL HELLO
We teach the ASL signs for: Hello, Friends, Time and Say.
Hello friends,
Hello friends,
It’s time to say hello.
Literacy Tip - SING
Singing slows language down and breaks words into syllables. Early literacy tip for caregivers-Sing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” with an adult and choose the animals. Act the animals out together or use puppets or stuffed animals.

Rhyme – Itsy Bitsy Spider

Down came the rain, and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain,

Dance them on your shoulders,
Dance them on your head,
Dance them on your knees,
And tuck them into bed.
Prop/Flannel - Here is a Beehive...
For this one I have a beehive on a paint stick and I am wearing a glove with five bees, one for each finger.
Here is the beehive. Where are the bees?
(hold up fist)
Hidden away where nobody sees.
(move other hand around fist)
Watch and you’ll see them come out of the hive
(bend head close to fist)
One, two, three, four, five.
(hold fingers up one at a time)
Bzzzzzzzz… all fly away!
(wave fingers)
Rhyme – This Little Train
The little train ran up the track (run fingers up arm)
Toot, toot, toot (make train noises)
And then it came toot-tooting back (run fingers down arm)
Toot, toot, toot (make train noises)

How'd it go:
We ended great, but started out slow today. I think having the ASL hello song and using ASL in "The More We Get Together," was too much sign for this crew. Otherwise, we had a fun time!
That's all for now!
